Strategic development resource for law firms

Associates are more engaged, loyal, and motivated to deliver consistently high-quality work when their law firm invests in their development and future. Coaching that is integrated into professional development programming at key transition points gives associates individualized support during the career stages where it matters most. It drives commitment to the firm and strengthens the talent pipeline.

In coaching, associates are supported to identify and clarify goals, build strategies to reach them, and course-correct strategically. Coaching can help underperforming associates find their footing and accelerate success for top performers.

How coaching can help law firms

Attract and Retain Associates: As is the case with mentorship and other professional development programs, coaching is a benefit that will help attract summer associates and laterals. Coaching is now a standard professional development offering at many Biglaw firms.

Complement Existing Programming: Coaching complements the firm’s mentorship and sponsorship programs. Packages are designed to integrate with existing professional development programming, giving associates another tool to accelerate the skills they’re learning at each stage.

Prioritize Billable Hours: Senior lawyers and partners regularly spend non-billable time informally “coaching” associates. Structured, systemic coaching gives much of that time back for client work.
